For anybody interested in the Tao Te Ching, I found an interesting copy online that has 4 translations side by side. I found it helped me get a better understanding to see multiple possible translations.
One of them is almost a “hyper modern” translation. For instance:
If you can talk about it,
it ain’t Tao.
If it has a name,
it’s just another thing.Tao doesn’t have a name.
Names are for ordinary things.
